Founded in Copenhagen in 1995, Trans Nordic Tours has long been recognized for its deep connection to Nordic culture, hospitality, and heritage. When the company decided to update its branding, it was essential to modernize the visual identity while preserving the legacy of its original symbol — the Viking boat, an emblem that embodies exploration, strength, and the spirit of the North.

To define the right creative direction, the QFlux design team conducted extensive visual and historical research, studying everything from ancient runestones and Nordic artifacts to 20th-century Danish typography and print design. This fusion of history and modernism became the foundation for a brand identity that feels timeless yet relevant.

After numerous rounds of sketching and experimentation, our art director and graphic designer collaborated to craft a custom typographic logo inspired by Scandinavian runes and modernist grotesque typefaces. The result was a handcrafted logotype that harmoniously connects the company’s cultural heritage with a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

To ensure brand continuity, we retained key characteristics of the original logo while refining its form and balance. The interaction between the Viking boat symbol and modular wordmark created a flexible, unified composition that works seamlessly across both digital and print media.

The final design strikes a delicate balance between tradition and modernity, evoking the vast Nordic landscapes and the enduring human spirit of exploration. To support long-term consistency, QFlux also developed comprehensive brand guidelines, outlining visual standards, typography, and color systems that would serve as the foundation for Trans Nordic Tours’ future website and marketing materials.

This reimagined identity positions Trans Nordic Tours as a modern ambassador of Scandinavian travel, blending authenticity, elegance, and cultural depth in every visual detail.
